Epinions Tekken 5: Taking Back the Crown

by  B_Campbell, top reviewer in Games ,  May 12, 2005
Pros: wide character assortment, deep game modes, excellent 1 and 2 player action, awesome visuals
Cons: Annoying final boss, simplistic environments, female objectification
The Bottom Line: Tekken once again
redefines what a fighter
should really be
Review: Overall: 9 Gameplay: 9 Graphics: 9 Sound: 10 Replay Value: 9 Few video games inspire sequels the way fighters do. The Street Fighter series, for example, is well into the double digits if you include the multitudinous spinoffs. ...

Epinions The King of Iron Fist Returns!

by  Vash,  Jul 1, 2005
Pros: Wonderful fight system, beautiful graphics, incredible extras
Cons: no on-line play
The Bottom Line: One of the best 3d fighters just got better. You'd be a fool to miss this.
Review: There was a time when a certain game so consumed me that I nearly failed out of school. Every lunch found me at the university game room with a stack of quarters and a frenzy in my eyes – Tekken 3 had me heart, mind, and soul. It was more than a ...

Epinions HOLY FREAKIN' FRENCH TOAST!

by  latincub83,  Apr 18, 2008
Pros: AWESOME graphics, great 3d, sound and overall nice port.
Cons: Too hard. :P
The Bottom Line: I use it as a benchmark for what can be done in the ps2. MUST BUY.
Review: Let's start by saying I now use this game as a benchmark for any other games for the ps2 as far as graphics are concerned. WHY OH WHY would any game designer settle for anything less than this? They managed to achieve high-end moving and interactive ...

Epinions Forget the Storyline. Get to the Fight.

by  jcgrow,  Mar 9, 2007
Pros: A beautiful arcade classic reborn in my home
Cons: Violent, and quite addictive
The Bottom Line: Tekken 5 sticks to the basics that most games have forgotten: Set up a contest, and appeal to the desire for competition and the primal urge to fight.
Review: I started playing Tekken back when there was no number after the name, years ago in a University arcade. My brother introduced it to me when he came to visit, and I admit that I spent far too much time in front of that machine. It was a great social ...

Epinions Tekken it back to the glory days of fighting games

by  t-time05,  Mar 11, 2005
Pros: Graphics, Gameplay, so many extra features...too many pros to list
Cons: No online play and AI difficulty is too high sometimes
The Bottom Line: The most amazing fighting game to come out in a while, Tekken 5 is fully exploiting the PS2. Many modes, and luscious graphics make this game amazingly fun to play
Review: In terms of fighting games, Tekken seems to be a household name now. How can I forget the countless hours, playing Tekken 1, 2 and 3 with all my friends, having tournaments and the rest! And of course, everyone remembers the classic characters that ...

by  ariels1200,  Apr 4, 2005
Pros: It's crazy!!! and a good mix of the old fighting games.
Cons: No online mode and often feel's cheap.
The Bottom Line: It's not all that bad, thats my final recommendation.
Review: As the future of fighting games goes online (Dead or alive and mortal kombat in particular) one certain fighter manages to oppose this concept. Is this a good idea or a bad one? Well taking a look back at it all...Namco decided to bring back the good ...

Epinions Just Tekken' the Mick

by  jayk3,  Jul 30, 2005
Pros: The game starts off good, and the graphics are good and realistic.
Cons: It gets boring after a while, and you'd just fell ripped off for your money.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a quick thrill then by all means get this game, but you'd just want to trade it back afterwards, I'm not recommending this one.
Review: After spending 30 pounds on Tekken 4 on release day I am highly disappointed that if I were to buy it today I could probably pick it up for around eight, and that just shows that the game had no quality, there were 19 characters, 21 if you included the ...
