Epinions Oh, How I LOVE My Photo Printer - and No PC Required!

by  SoulMates,  Sep 13, 2003
Pros: Stunning prints in vibrant colour, inexpensive operating costs, fast printing once started
Cons: Sometimes slow to start printing, oddball tray for catching output sometimes warps printouts
The Bottom Line: A budget-priced printer without producing budget-looking results, a must have for those who need to do lots of good-looking prints without breaking the bank.
Review: I have had this printer for a few weeks now and I have never printed so much "stuff" in my life. I really did not intend to write a review but when I saw the other reviews in this category, I felt that some of them were somewhat unfair. They accused the p ...

Epinions Canon S530D is superior to my past HP Ink Jets

by  rjclubmaker,  Feb 9, 2004
Pros: Very fast, quiet, high qualiy, true color printing at a great price.
Cons: Ink level indicator poorly designed, but minor compared to excellent overall price-performance.
Review: After upgrading to Windows XP Pro, I discovered that my HP 1120C Ink Jet was not supported by Windows and HP refused to provide support under XP (my IBM Scanner was also no longer supported, so I replaced it with a Canon CanoScan LIDE). No more HP ...

Epinions Excellent in many ways, lousy in one way.

by  opine001,  Jan 5, 2004
Pros: Print quality, low cost per page for ink, quiet, fast, etc.
Cons: Pathetic ink level "meter"
The Bottom Line: I'll recommend it, because of the things it does so well. But if Canon has produced a similar product with a better ink level meter, then buy that one instead.
Review: Print quality is fantastic (text & photos). Low noise level is very nice (a welcomed relief from the heavy machinery sounds which came from my 'old' Epson Stylus Color 980). Very fast. And according to Consumer Reports, the cost per page for ink is ...

Epinions Good overall printer, not great for photos.

by  philbiker,  Jun 5, 2003
Pros: Good printer for everyday use.
Cons: Not the best for photographs. - They look grainy.
The Bottom Line: Very good, solid printer. If you don't expect real photo quality photos and you'll be happy.
Review: I got this printer about 8 months ago and it's been very good. For printing regular stuff it's fast and neat.

Printing digital camera photos to borderless 4x6 photo paper works great, but the output is a bit grainy. Not comparable to real...

Epinions Buy it, but know what you're getting

by  mikekesq,  Aug 24, 2003
Pros: Good quality photos for the price.
Cons: Photos are somewhat grainy...but what do you expect for the price?
The Bottom Line: Great buy for the budget conscious.
Review: For a relatively low price, this is a reliable, competent, photo printer. It's quick, colors are ac ...

Epinions Fast; Good Quality Prints

by  gw3194,  Mar 27, 2004
Pros: 8X10 Color prints from 4 megapixel digital pictures are great. Software, print speed, set up.
Cons: Expensive supplies; frequent head cleaning.
Review: This printer is a bargain, but not without a few faults. Previously I've owned only HP's. The biggest negative in the comparison is the inkjet versus the bubble jet cartridges. The HP units are user friendly, the Cannon are less so. You have to run ...

Epinions Great Photos, but excessive nozzle cleanings

by  mrjiggyfly,  Sep 22, 2004
Pros: It prints great pictures and when the nozzles are working correctly it prints o.k
Cons: You spend a lot of time cleaning nozzles and wasting a lot of paper.
Review: Bought this printer 9 months ago for our office and have had to clean the print nozzles almost daily. It does not warn you when they need cleaning, you only find that out after you've printed. The print is terrible unless you clean the nozzles. No ...

Epinions Works great except one major problem

by  fd2996,  Dec 4, 2003
Pros: Lots of features, very fast, good color
Cons: Quirky ink flow problem
Review: This printer has worked very well, but for one serious problem. Just about every time we want to print something, we have to run "deep cleaning" cycle. If we don't, the page comes out mostly blank, with streaks of printed area across the page -- it looks ...

Epinions After 1 year its a piece of junk

by  rpgormley,  Jul 24, 2004
Pros: Worked for one year at least
Cons: Its worthless for full page prints after one year of use
Review: Worked great for 18 months. Now it streaks and bands full page prints despite multiple cleanings, deep cleanings and print head adjustments. Of course, the warranty is only for one year. How convenient. It still prints out 4x6 prints OK for some reason. ...
