Epinions Canon EOS-20D: Canon's $1500 Prosumer Speed Demon

by  mrs-j,  Dec 21, 2004
Pros: Lightning fast, improved AF capabilities, easy to use and change functions on the fly.
Cons: The only one I can think of might be expense.
The Bottom Line: Canon's designed another winner in their digital EOS line. The EOS-20D has the speedy DIGIC II image processor of their highest end cameras at a more affordable price.
Review: Recently a friend of mine who is also an amateur photographer came to visit. He brought along his brand new toy, a Canon EOS-20D and we spent the better part of a weekend taking shots with it around town. I currently own the Canon EOS 300D ...

by  fashfoto,  Nov 20, 2004
Pros: Canon at the top of their game with a camera for the rest of us!
Cons: The shutter is rather loud.
The Bottom Line: Canon has got it right. This is a camera of professional caliber at an affordable price.
Review: Having enjoyed a career as a fashion photographer for major magazines, my one concern with respect to the equipment that I used was that of achieving maximum quality in my photos. That, eventually, led me to using Leica cameras, with their superb Leitz ...

Epinions The EOS-20D: You are my new best friend.

by  balasuar,  Jan 10, 2005
Pros: Professional grade feature set, image quality, speed, looks, everything really...
Cons: Price, LCD resolution.
The Bottom Line: The EOS-20D answers the question: Should I move to digital? The answer, oh hell yeah.
Review: Background I didn’t get serious about photography as a hobby until about this time last year. My dad gave me his old Minolta SRT-202 and a few lenses. After a few outings, the camera ended up jamming on me. I upgraded to the Canon Elan 7E ...

Epinions Outstanding Performance in a DSLR. The Time to Buy is Now

by  jackoh,  Jul 3, 2006
Pros: DSLR image quality, super fast response time, highly programmable, extensive system expandability, 1.6 magnification factor
Cons: Somewhat disappointing noise level in tough shooting situations, flash and download software poor.
The Bottom Line: But it. Outstanding images, exceptionally fast response time, high speed burst mode, automated multi-exposure and multi-color balanced shooting, with true SLR performance and full Canon EOS compatibility. Now under $1000.
Review: If you've been considering the Canon 20D now is the time to buy one. This high performing digital SLR has been replaced by the 30D, yet both cameras are pretty much the same, except for price. The 20D is now available for under $1,000. Grab it while you ...

by  time4play,  May 24, 2005
Pros: Everything else
Cons: "cost", bulkiness, software, LCD size, ISO noise, viewfinder cover, loudness of shutter, ADEP mode
The Bottom Line: Buy it it's worth it.
Review: Ok so I only had this camera for a couple of days as of the date of this review. This is my first dSLR but my second Canon SLR camera. I looked at the Rebel XT and the Nikon D70 cameras before even considering purchasing this camera. I loved the ...

Epinions Best In Its Class

by  rogerngaw,  Dec 17, 2004
Pros: Speed, low noise even at high ISO, high buffer size, design, battery life, price.
Cons: Nothing of consequence.
The Bottom Line: Buy it without hesitation or regret, it's really THAT good!
Review: In less than a year, I found myself buying my 3rd DSLR. I started off with the Digital Rebel early this year. Whilst I still think that it is a good camera, I find it a tad slow for my purpose, which is photographing birds in the wild. After missing many ...

by  hopetest,  Apr 23, 2005
Pros: Stunning quality, fast, well-built, professional level, great autofocus, excellent custom functions
Cons: Errr..... it doesn't cost £50? Sorry but it's all I can come up with!
The Bottom Line: Pro quality at a price for the enthusiast. Stunning pictures as good as they come.
Review: I had a Canon 10D and thought the world of it, a stunner of a camera, especially compared to the market that prevailed at the time I bought it. When the 20D was announced my immediate reaction was 'there won't be enough to warrant the upgrade for me'. ...

Epinions Love it!

by  mldavis2,  Sep 26, 2004
Pros: Outstanding controls and picture quality. 8.2 megapixels. Extremely fast and nearly instant on.
Cons: No CF flash card included. Heavy with bigger lenses. No .TIF file mode.
The Bottom Line: If you can afford it and a good lens, it is an incredible value for a professionally featured camera that is easy to use.
Review: I began my semi-serious photography hobby back in 1969 with a new Pentax Spotmatic 35mm SLR, confined by finances to black & white darkroom work, and color slides. My interest in photography waned during the child rearing years due to job and time ...

Epinions Canon EOS-20D Digital Camera

by  drstu,  Sep 23, 2004
Pros: Build quality, camera user interface, 8.2 megapixels
Cons: Accompanying software poorly implemented and inconsistent with other Canon equipment.
The Bottom Line: A solid photographic investment, backed up by a superb line of lenses and accessories. Needs improvement only to accompanying software, which hopefully will be posted at Canon's website shortly.
Review: I purchased the 20D to replace my Canon Digital Rebel. I was happy with the Rebel, though not with its kit lens which was somewhat poorly constructed, but I wanted a DSLR that would allow for larger size prints. The 20D arrived last week. I've been using ...
