Review: Last winter I decided to invest in a new camera and after doing a lot of reading reviews and specs on cameras, I was about to settle for a Canon Powershot S3 but was balking at the price, then I lucked onto a review that compared the S3 to the S2 and I ...

Epinions Great Travel Camera

by  fortunecat500,  Feb 6, 2006
Pros: The lens, IS, the size (smaller than an SLR), the myriad of modes
Cons: The size (larger than a compact); no raw, tiff or hotshoe for flash.
The Bottom Line: Great travel camera. Amazing lens. Love IS. Notes about ratings: battery life and shutter lag minimal, but I use alkaline batteries and a 150x sd card.
Review: I had been looking for a camera that would work well while travelling. I like travelling to out of the way places, primarily with backpacks and having a wide variety of adventures that require versatility. I own a Canon Elan IIe film camera, and have ...

Pros: 12x and fast zoom, lots of manual settings, AA batteries
Cons: price, no RAW, movies and sound clips are huge (no compression), no sport mode
The Bottom Line: Great 12x optical zoom and full manual control. Get it, if you don't mind the price.

Review: I bought my canon S2 IS about 3 years ago when it was the biggest tele zoom on the market(at least in the smaller body). I bout it over the Kodak, sony, and even the panasonic. I wasn't able to find a panasonic fz camera anywhere at my local electronic ...

Epinions Canon PowerShot S2 IS Digital Camera

by  adr58,  Nov 4, 2005
Pros: Tons of features; Great video capability; Powerful flash.
Cons: Difficult focusing in dim light; Not very ergonomic; No continuous battery life indicator
The Bottom Line: Great features and high quality in a small package. If you want point and shoot that fits in your pocket, go elsewhere
Review: I bought this camera after reading the generally good reviews. I wanted a "crossover" camera that would take great stills and good short video with sound. I have a Nikon 995 currently and it is good for stills but the video is "choppy" and poor ...
