Romance by Any Other Name...

Ralph Lauren recently introduced a fragrance called "Romance", and I have a feeling they used D&G's "By" as a basis for it's scent. Before I review this product, let me state that I am by no means an expert in this field. But I know enough to ask women what they think!

Indeed, I first purchased this fragrance three years ago during Christmas-time shopping. I was going back to Missouri to visit my parents, and I had never really owned a good bottle of cologne. I went into a local outlet store, and simply asked the rather becoming lady behind the counter, "What is your favorite cologne, regardless of price?" She didn't even hesitate. Quickly produced before me was a zebra-striped bottle by someone called D& G. "Who are they?" I asked. I think the lady rolled her eyes, or sighed, but she was patient and pleasant, ignoring my ignorance, and focusing on the scent.

D&G "By" does not project a manly scent. In other words, if your looking to spruce up your Old Spice with something better, look elsewhere. The scent is very floral, almost perfume in character. However, there is just something about it, I believe spicy would be the word, that does give "By" a cologne feel.

I wear this fragrance almost exclusively at night, or on a date. It's perfect for romantic evenings, formal dinners, church, or anything dressy. It craves the evening. This fragrance would not be my first choice for everyday work duty, but your tastes, and lifestyle may differ from mine.

In the end, I cannot give this product a higher recommendation than to say I still buy it after three years of use.
