Epinions WOW!!! What a great training tool!

by  darogers,  Apr 26, 2006
Pros: Simple to operate; light weight; lots of data on any one ride
Cons: Poor mount design, permanent battery
The Bottom Line: Overall I really love this thing.
Review: To be fair, I've only had the Edge 305 for a little over a year. The model I have came with a heart rate monitor and cadence sensor. So far I haven't found much I don't like about it. The operation of the unit is surprisingly intuitive and the manual ...

Epinions Great motivator

by  djwright12,  Jun 26, 2007
Pros: lots of data customizable screens accurate elevation with both GPS and barometric altimeters
Cons: large diameter mount I bought for it doesn't fit but included mounts worked fine
The Bottom Line: This is a great training aid and motivator. I ride my bike for fitness and to lose weight and this is just the thing to keep me going.
Review: My wife gave me the Garmin Edge 305 as an early birthday gift. She knew if she waited for my BD in September my riding season would be almost over. I am so excited about the Garmin. i have just started using it and already I am setting new personal ...

Epinions What an amazing tool, LOVE IT!

by  josh550,  Mar 19, 2007
Pros: Just a wonderful training tool, worth every penny!
Cons: Does take some time to familiarize yourself with the operation.
The Bottom Line: Great buy, do it do it do it!
Review: This is perhaps the best purchase I have made for my working out next to only my bike itself! I saw one review here stating that it won't keep track of total miles, but apparently he doesn't know how to use it as it does this without any issue for me. ...

Epinions Great product with a few teething troubles

by  raintonr,  Apr 22, 2006
Pros: Sensitive receiver, small, lightweight, does the job designed for well.
Cons: Included software isn't the best. No keylock. Limited GPS navigation.
The Bottom Line: The Edge 305 scores well because it is brilliant at what it does. If the software niggles described can be overcome the Edge 305 could well get 5 stars.
Review: Overview I'd been looking for a GPS device for a while now and picked the Edge 305 for a number of reasons: - I mainly want to log where I mountain bike, often places where there are no defined trails. - Elevation accuracy is important ...

Epinions The unit is nice, software is a crime

by  boobynez,  Jan 8, 2008
Pros: Awsome unit for tracking your rides.
Cons: Garmin tries to rip you off by making you pay $12 a month
The Bottom Line: The unit is great, but Garmin can't be forgiven for fleecing us with 'MotionBased' scam
Review: Got the Edge so I track the miles I rack up my bike, and my heartrate- I like to keep it around 200 or so. The Edge does all that, and it even has a backlight. The included mount is pretty lame- I had to weld together out of #2 bar stock. It added 8 ...

Epinions good, when it works

by  freewheel307,  Mar 21, 2008
Pros: tons of info
Cons: unreliable
The Bottom Line: Buy it only if you get an extended warranty and have a back-up training tool to use when it is in for repair (frequently)
Review: My disappointing Edge 305. When I first heard of the Edge 305 and all it could do I was amazed!! As an avid road and competitive mountain biker the functions available on the edge 305 seemed to be just what I needed. My wife surprised me with on ...

Epinions My problems with Garmin Edge 305

by  laserpipe,  Feb 26, 2007
Pros: Cool looking graphs.
Cons: Way to much money for what I need.
Review: When I bought this very expensive system, I was under the belief that I could run and track three separate bikes. I immediately sent in for two more cadence/speed pickups, for another $230 dollars. First, when they came, they would not interface with the ...
