Epinions brad's Experience

by  brad,  Dec 15, 2007
Pros: AC powered. USB 2.0 bandwidth. Great software suite.
Cons: A bit bulky, not too bad.
The Bottom Line: For a stand-alone scanner, this is a wonderful machine. If that's what you're looking for, buy this thing.
Review: Howdy doody, folks. That's a question. You're supposed to answer (e.g. Great! Never Better! Been to hell and back!). Kidding. I'll get serious. I bought this scanner about a month ago off Epson's clearance rack. For those who aren't familiar, ...

Epinions Epson Perfection is aptly named

by  kivafriends,  Jan 7, 2008
Pros: Very easyto use, excellent scan quality
Cons: None that I have come across
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended because it is easy to use for those who need simplicity, but has a range of features available for those who want them.
Review: Never having used a computer scanner before buying this one, I was a bit apprehensive about the possibility of having to spend a lot of time learning how to use it. No worry! The installation was extremely easy, and the software makes scanning almost ...

Epinions Making good food easily

by  b9hi13y02,  Mar 29, 2006
Pros: Finally a home stove with high BTU output!
Cons: Confusing oven functions and oven probe that is difficult to use on smaller items.
The Bottom Line: Oh, go on! Splurge on yourself and get a nice stove this next time.
Review: Having worked in restaurants for many years (and having been a chef for two of those) I have very high standards in cookware. All of my knives are hand forged and are babied. My pots and pans are all high quality, heavy wall stainless. And my stove is ...

Epinions This is one heavy duty all purpose range

by  kelligirl,  Mar 19, 2006
Pros: GE has covered every option in their design. It is everything and more.
Cons: The protective film was placed under the handles. You will never get it all off.
Review: I had never had a gas fueled oven before. We cranked up every burner, the lower oven and the main oven to 450°. Within a few minutes, the oven was at temp and held it. It cooks evenly with convection heat. I love the center griddle burner. This ...

Epinions Scans like a pro, love the software options.

by  gjax,  Dec 6, 2006
Pros: Good software, excellent resolution, fast, clear crisp images.
Cons: Scanner forces itself to scan even if locked. No physical guide for laying out film.
The Bottom Line: It's an excellent scanner for the price. It provides high quality scans, and does it quickly. It's a good buy.
Review: We purchased this scanner for my office a few weeks ago and when it came in I was really excited. We don't do a lot of scanning and the only reason we picked up a scanner this nice was because it was being covered by the university life cycle upgrade ...

Epinions Pretty, flexible, heavy.

by  drakestern123,  Dec 27, 2005
Pros: Pretty, flexible, fun.
Cons: Stupid blue plasti wrap, stupid female gas coonnector.
The Bottom Line: Ignore the numeric ratings, just got it. Review is preliminary.
Review: Just arrived. HEAVY! A snap to set up, although you should make sure to buy a gas hose and a double-male adapter since the stove does not necessarily come with a hose and it has a female plug on the gas inlet. Hoses from the hardware store come with ...

Epinions Good multipurpose scanner

by  powrtoch,  Nov 16, 2006
Pros: Good performance, easy to use
Cons: Wobbly cover
Review: I've had my Epson 4490 for about 10 months now and use it to scan a variety of materials: photos, text, illustration, transparencies. I've been very pleased with its performance with all of them. Moreover, it's extremely easy to set up and use. I'd ...

Epinions Excellent, but lousy documentation

by  tmkiefer22,  Feb 17, 2007
Pros: Seems OK, if I can get it installed
Cons: Very poor documentation
Review: The installation process was extremely cumbersome, made much worse by the absence of a printed manual. There is a HTML file for the manual on the disk, but that is very hard to print out as a permanent reference. I went to Epson's web site to see if ...
