Epinions Now this is what GPS should look like!

by  bredlo,  Jul 23, 2004
Pros: Amazing screen, nice customization features, very versatile, nice geocaching features
Cons: No Macintosh support, pricey add-on map software (as with all Garmin)
The Bottom Line: Without Mac support, it's a pain to enter all coordinates in manually. Still, it's an exceptional product and as a first-time GPS user, I couldn't be happier.
Review: After owning a Garmin eTrex Legend for all of 24 hours, I realized that I wasn't going to be happy with a small black and white screen, no turn-by-turn driving navigation, and the inferior nature of built-in antennas. While considerably more expensive, ...

Epinions The Last GPS I'll ever buy.

by  ttheobal,  May 14, 2004
Pros: Large 256 COLOR TFT Screen, geocaching feature, autorouting,56MB Memory, usb support
Cons: Breakable belt clip, preloaded maps are not accurate as some other models.
The Bottom Line: If you want a good solid unit without spending the big bucks, this is the GPS for you. Middle of the road price, big unit features.
Review: About 2 months ago I sold my eTrex Legend and bought the GPSMap 60C. I am happy I took the step ahead. The unit fits nicely into the hand. Since the thumbstick has been removed, the GPS is now operated just as easily with the left hand as the right. ...

Epinions Garmin GPS60CSx

by  hallma1,  Oct 30, 2007
Pros: Features, Acquisition Speed, Portability
Cons: It can be expensive
The Bottom Line: Excellent choice for those wanting a top-notch GPS with portability.
Review: This is one rockin' handheld GPS unit! I purchased the GPS60CSx primarily for use as an in-vehicle navigation unit that has the flexibility to be used outdoors. In addition to the GPS, I purchased the Garmin Metroguide map set, a 1GB microSD card, ...

Pros: Easy read Color screen, Waypoints, routing and ability to find food and lodging
Cons: Not Mac compatible; can only use Garmin Mapsource maps
The Bottom Line: An excellent unit for both road and back country. Has many features to enhance your traveling experience. Would not travel without it.
Review: The Garmin GPSMAP 60C is an excellent choice if you are looking for a handheld GPS Unit. We have owned one for a little over a year. We did a lot of research before purchasing a GPS unit and felt Garmin was a good choice and still do. Though we have ...

Epinions Great unit for geocaching/ outdoor activities

by  agentblu15,  May 25, 2005
Pros: color screen, great battery life, amazing accuracy, geocaching mode, USB cable for downloads
Cons: comes with limited map software, software upgrades are expensive. NO cons with the unit itself!
Review: Upgraded from the ETrex Yellow after extensive research. Unit is a big step up from the ETrex in both features and quality. Easy to learn, easy to use. Clear color screen makes maps and menus easy to see in any light. Accuracy seems dead-on, usually ...

Epinions Garmin 60cx note worthy consumer gps.

by  nwamphotog,  May 14, 2006
Pros: Garmin customer service seems receptive to customer complaints and suggestions with software updates accordingly.
Cons: Shortened distance warning time to approaching turns and exits. Volume of tones to low.
Review: With the introduction of the "x" (with the siRFIII chipset)map series gps and expandable memory. I own both the Garmin 60cx and 60cs. It has never been more fun to use a gps. Now geocaching and hiking in canopied forests is more precise with fast and ...

Epinions works good on smooth roads

by  dmwelch,  Jun 7, 2005
Pros: great color display, fairly easy to navigate screens, relatively inexpensive.
Cons: shuts itself off if batteries jiggle around when using.
Review: I bought this to mount to the handlebars of my motorcycle for a trip I was taking. The unit worked well but had a problem of always shutting itself off. I thought the batteries were going dead but it turns out the vibration from the road were causing the ...

Epinions So-so GPS for outdoor use - unsuitable for cycling

by  michaeld2,  Aug 21, 2004
Pros: good reception, very nice color screen, 'mapping' function (map display), runs on AA Batteries, rugged
Cons: pricey, expensive add-on software, limited availability of topographic maps, bicycle mount insecure, Garmin service
The Bottom Line: Decent unit for hiking, but is, at least with the accessories available from Garmin, not suitable for cycling and especially not for mountain biking!
Review: Since I already have a Blaupunkt navigation system in my car, I need a GPS handheld unit only for outdoor activities like cycling (road as well as mountain biking), hiking and mountaineering. The following review therefore only deals with the ...
