Pros: -Fast and strong satellite signal
-Loads of information from your workout
-Easy to use
Cons: -Price if not on sale
-Software is not that great
The Bottom Line: If you run or are interested in running the Forerunner 305 can help you analyze your workout to achieve your best performance.
Review: About Me I'm a 28 year old male that has been running off and on the last 8 years. I run between 12 and 25 miles a week from spring to early winter. I fall off the bandwagon quite frequently but overall I enjoy running. I also lift weights and ...

Pros: Good reception, accurate, small & lightweight, lots of features
Cons: Minimal Mac OS support (more coming)
The Bottom Line: A great GPS/heart rate monitor training aid. It's small, lightweight, and has everything most runners would want.
Review: Please see the update at the bottom of this review. -m We picked up the 305 for a couple reasons: (1) my trusty old Timex Ironman Speed + Distance system finally died on me, and (2) as one of us is an expectant mother, we wanted something to ...

Pros: Nice design, excellent software available, functional
Cons: None, but I have some concerns down the road about a few elements.
The Bottom Line: A tool that could rekindle your desire for working out and maybe more. Many features and an amazing software will make you feel like a pro in training.
Review: My Background. I have been using GPS tools for a while and I have used them regularly in my training for at least 2 years. My favorite sport activities are inline skating (speedskating, more properly) and downhill skiing. Before purchasing the ...

Pros: Keeps track of many parts of your run Heartrate/Pace/AveragePace/Elevation/Distance
Cons: Bulky and sometimes hard to keep in place when sweaty
The Bottom Line: A must have if you want to get more serious about your training
Review: I purchased my Garmin 305 over a year ago. I love this product! Start Up takes a bit of time but the added info really does help you get accurate information. You have to put in gender & weight. From that they give you general heart rate parameters. ...

Pros: Ease of Use. Great display. Great design. Great analytics. Great price.
Cons: Motionbased add-on confuses me, doesn't seem fully baked. No problems with Forerunner at all.
The Bottom Line: Excellent Tool. Very well worth the money. Will save me a ton of time with all data dumped into computer. No more log books.
Review: I have been an on-and-off again runner for 12 years and have tried a lot of products to analyze my training and performance. I will use this primarily for running and mountain biking. I have had both Polar and Timex heart rate monitors in the ...

Pros: Small, GPS functions, lots of data collection
Cons: 10.5 hour battery
The Bottom Line: You won't find anything out there like it.
Review: I had to do an extreme challenge and hike 35 miles for a charity in which I did absolutely no training. I purchased the Garmin 305 to help me better understand my heart rates and to basically feed me input as I did the hike. The Garmin 305 allows you to ...

Pros: Style, fit, ease of use,
Cons: none

Pros: Small, not clunky like the old ones.
Cons: Expensive, Not the greatest averaging.
Review: I have only had it for 2 weeks but I love it. I have taken it hiking, biking and running and it works very well for all. It works well inside on my treadmill too, I just turn off the GPS. It is ok for navigation but that is not what it is designed ...

Pros: A terrific gadget for tracking speed, time, distance, heart rate, and calorie count.
Cons: Can be bulky on small wrists; control buttons are cumbersome, Garmin Support is poor.
The Bottom Line: This gadget keeps track of so many variables, such as speed, distance, pace, heart-rate, and calories burned. A great aid especially if you train alone. Purchase_only from a reputable_retailer.
Review: Much to my excitement, as a Christmas present in 2006, I received a Garmin Forerunner 305. I immediately charged the battery and proceeded to decipher the instruction booklet. I couldnt wait to use it! For one year Ive had a love/hate ...

Pros: GPS accuracy and precision, data recording, heart rate
Cons: Grade calculation is useless, software is pretty poor for $300+ product
The Bottom Line: Good running and biking tool. Fun to use. Some room for improvement.
Review: I have had my Forerunner 305 for almost 3 weeks now. Previous to this I used a Polar S150 (wired bike mount) for several years and a entry level Polar before that, so I am used to basic heart rate monitor but not advance data recording or GPS. I have ...
