Epinions Gekido: The spiritual successor to Streets of Rage?

by  offspringer,  Jun 14, 2000
Pros: Fun to play; decent soundtrack; multi-player modes
Cons: Cheap hits; average graphics; muffled sound effects
Review: Gekido is the type of game that PlayStation owners have not seen too many of: the side-scrolling beat-em-up. It is a great game if you like that genre, which I do; but for other gamers, this game may grow old quickly, even with it's four-player feature....

Epinions Its a good fighter

by  Leanie2,  Jun 18, 2000
Pros: learning curve is fast, runs smoothly
Cons: graphics are a little chunky
Review: I like fighting games and all but I think this game is one of the best I ever played. It's okay as far as gameplay and everything, but it can get pretty addictive. If they didn't have this game though, I would have probably chosen Street Fighter. But,...

Epinions Finial Fight Meets Fear Effect

by  mikemvv,  Jun 24, 2000
Pros: Graphics and Sounds
Cons: Loading with in levels
Review: Final Fight kind of games was never really my thing. In till now Gekido has all the right stuff it had me hooked form the start. At first I was over wemed by the detail graphics in the game. There is so much detail from lighting effects to wind and rain....

Epinions I Put the "Friend" in "Friendly Fire".

by  Alkaiser,  Jul 11, 2000
Pros: Beating stuff up. 4 player mode, friendly fire. =)
Cons: Graphics...bad.
Review: The only reason I bought this game was because I was really bored. I was looking for something to occupy my time, and I picked this and Street Fighter EX 2 up at the same time. However, I ended up playing Shogun most of the time, so I forgot about...

Epinions The New Old School!

by  kapn-munch,  Jun 15, 2000
Pros: Sound effects, backgrounds
Cons: Characters, picking up things
Review: Gekido is a pretty good game. Most side-scrolling adventure games kind of lose their fun after a while because there's always that one level that you can't beat. This game is different because it keeps you in the action. The graphics are okay. The...

Epinions Gekido the worst game I ever played

by  bloodmoon,  Dec 2, 2001
Pros: The music, what everything else sucked
Cons: Everything, except of course the music.
The Bottom Line: I hate games that appear to be put together in under an hour, and this one was.
Review: To start out I must say this game wanted me to get up and go throw myself down a flight of stairs. The gameplay was botched, the speed was irregular and it was hard to play.
Now to tell you all I'm a patient guy, and I tried to find things in this...

Epinions It's going to blow!

by  texcooper,  Dec 20, 2002
Pros: lots of weapons, rage meter, multi-player mode
Cons: everything else, very buggy
The Bottom Line: It was so unstable, that I thought the game was going to explode!
Review: I think it is important to review the technical aspects of this game. The game play itself is pretty simplistic in concept. This is a fighting game similar to Fighting Force. You can play either alone or with a friend by two player mode. At the menu...
