Consumer Review

Epinions

An underrated basic

by  in4md-shopper,   Feb 17, 2008

Pros:  Smaller, removable crock, glass lid

Cons:  none

The Bottom Line:  I recommend this product. As with any, assess your own needs and choose accordingly. It's a value for the price.

Author's Review

When my crock pot was dropped by my dear husband who was washing the dishes (no complaints from me!) the ceramic pot cracked. It looked to me like an opportunity to "upgrade" to a unit with fancy features. I tried one that ended up going back to the store (Rival scv550H-R w/ hinged lid). Then I bought a large 6 quart Hamilton Beach Stay-or-Go that is working well, but is too big for most of our needs.

I picked up this little guy for a reasonable $15 at WalMart. It is a basic white model with the following settings: Off, Warm, Low, High. There is a glass lid with a white knob. The base has handles and the crock lifts out for washing. It is dishwasher safe and the manageable size allows for easy placement on the dishwasher rack. The user's manual also includes some tasty recipes as a bonus!

There is little else to say about this fine, simple unit. I see that it is available with the Stay-or-Go feature of a locking lid. You would have to decide if it's worth the extra money to you. I have the 6-quart and have liked it. For this little one, I will be just as happy to use my mini-bungee cords.
