by  jankp,  Jan 3, 2003
Pros: convenient size; chops or purees very well; easy to clean/use
Cons: none for me
The Bottom Line: Anyone can use this, but children should be supervised.
Review: This inexpensive kitchen helper was a welcome gift from a married, female friend who knows well its many benefits. Finally I have found something to help me make perfect guacamole! If you read my recent review of my juice extractor, then you know what a...

Epinions Awesome Mini-sized Food Processor

by  hosai,  Oct 5, 2005
Pros: Cheap price, small, easy to clean, easy to put together and store away.
Cons: Terrible for chopping onions. One and half cup capacity is too small for bigger jobs.
The Bottom Line: Great for curry pastes, pesto sauces & making diced tomatoes into puree tomatoes. Stains removed from plastic container very easily. Easy to clean. Low price.
Review: Hamilton Beach small food chopper works great for me as a mini-sized food processor. Not to mention the fact that is very inexpensive at about $10 compared to a food processor which is around $30 dollars and plus, but this product has a powerful tiny ...

Epinions Inexpensive and very durable and useful.

by  msphdmom,  Dec 8, 2007
Pros: Compact, easily cleaned, cheap.
Cons: Pre-cut larger foods like carrots.
The Bottom Line: I recommend as an alternative to using a larger food processor for those quick, small chopping jobs.
Review: I picked this inexpensive chopper up last year for chopping nuts to put into a cookie recipe. Well, that was only the beginning of all its uses for me. I use it for dicing garlic, onion, nuts, herbs and just about anything I don't want to cut up by ...

Epinions Great for baby food

by  anadandy,  Dec 21, 2000
Pros: Great for homemade baby food and smaller items
Cons: Larger foods need to be pre-cut
Review: I bought this food chopper for one purpose, to make baby food. My baby is old enough to eat what we eat, but still only has two teeth - so I needed something small and quick, to chop up chicken, vegetables and other table food. The Proctor Silex Food...

Epinions No More Tears

by  coco_c,  Feb 15, 2001
Pros: Very fast and convenient to avoid onion tears.
Cons: A bit fussy to clean.
The Bottom Line: The Proctor Silex Food Chopper is a small, durable and easy way to chop vegetables uniformly and without the tears normally associated with chopping onions.
Review: I received the Proctor Silex chopper as a gift and was looking forward to using it for the dreaded task of chopping onions. I was leery of the machine's ability to chop thoroughly and was pleasantly surprised with the speed and how finely the onion...

Epinions Good but....

by  morndew11,  Mar 22, 2005
Pros: Fast, strong, perfect for garlic and onions.Cheap.
Cons: Flimsy bowl and lid. Cracks and breaks easily.
Review: This chopper is wonderful if you just HATE the smell of onion on your hands. Chopping the thing into a couple of big chunks is nothing compared to achieving a small dice, and those chunks dice up in about 15 seconds with this little machine. ...

Epinions So-so, if you don't put the bowl or lid in the dishwasher..

by  BriFox,  Nov 1, 2000
Pros: It was very inexpensive and the motor is very strong...
Cons: Despite what the user info says... the bowl and lid shouldn't go in the dishwasher
Review: I purchased the Proctor-Silex mini chopper about a seven months ago to replace a combination hand blender/chopper (since I used the blender more for chopping than blending)... I considered buying a full size processor but I wasn't quite ready to commit...
