The perfect indoor grill

I have a large family - 4 kids, 2 of which are teenage boys. I have been wanting an indoor counter top grill for a while, but didn't want to pay 100 or more dollars for one that was large enough. If I purchased a smaller grill I knew that I would have to grill for half the family and then grill again to feed the rest of the family. It was essential that I be able to grill enough for the entire family without having to grill in shifts. I was very excited when I found this one at wal mart with an under 40 dollar price tag, and large enough to cook for the whole family at once.

This grill works very well, it cooks food quickly and evenly on both the top and bottom simultaneously. Both the top and the bottom grill plates are easily removed for cleaning in the dishwasher by sliding a latch and lifting them out. The drip tray to catch the runoff grease is also easily removed for cleaning in the dishwasher by sliding it out the right side of the grill. Ease of cleaning was a big selling point for me because my mother has a counter top grill where the grill plates do not remove and she has a very difficult time cleaning them. Her indoor grill no longer works since she had to submerse it to fully clean it. She plans to purchase this grill to replace the one without the removable grill grids.

When cooking, I lay my food in the grill and turn an auto shutoff dial timer on the front of the grill and close the lid. There is a guide in the hamilton beach manual for how long to set it for different foods. After setting the timer I can just go about the rest of my food preparation and forget about it.

You can also open this grill out flat for a larger cooking surface but the top and bottom are not evenly cooked at the same time when this feature is used.

This grill has 102 sq inches of grilling surface or 204 square inches if you open it flat. dimensions are 16.51 X 13.68 X 6.12.

It comes with a grill recipe book and also a guide to how long to grill different foods.

By the way, the picture shows a black one, mine is white so I guess it comes in more than one color, but I have never actually seen the black one in stores.

This grill is the perfectly sized grill for a family, the cooking surfaces are easy to clean. All these features with an under 40 dollar price tag make this grill a winner.
