Epinions the price was right!

by  catladyfromnpt,  Jun 14, 2001
Pros: small, attractive design and doesn't take up much room
Cons: sometimes burns toast
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this toaster to anyone whos looking for a simple, no frills toaster that does the job!
Review: I needed a toaster and I wasn't looking for anything spectacular when I spotted this Proctor-Silex brand toaster on sale in a local department store for $9.99. It wasn't too big and would be perfect for the rare occasions I make toast or english muffins....

Epinions Let's get toasted...

by  basilisk4,  Sep 7, 2000
Pros: Cheap, effective
Cons: Toast doesn't always stay down on first try
Review: I like to think of the toaster as somewhat of a parallel to the abject laziness of so many of my fellow Americans these days. We don't want a toaster that just toasts our bread -- oh, no, it has to toast any kind of bread product we can think of...

by  mbmattson,  Sep 26, 2000
Pros: Inexpensive, cool to the touch, wide slots
Cons: Burns food too quickly, settings misleading
Review: For our wedding, we got what most couples receive for presents..
at least 4 toasters! We gave 2 away and kept this Proctor Silex
SmartToast Two Slice Toaster
and another brand that we have
never used. Our wedding was over 2 years...

Epinions Crummy

by  Kitten,  Nov 13, 1999
Pros: Never burns toast
Cons: Push handle breaks easily
Review: This toaster looks great and toasts fine it was even an easy buy it was the cheapest on the shelf. But it's 6 months old and its already broken. The little push down thing snapped off and its not like we use it a lot. WE use it possibly 3 times a week...

Epinions Hardly Toasting

by  sharmck,  Aug 25, 2000
Pros: Wide slots
Cons: Hard to use, takes to long to toast
Review: I love toasted bagels and waffles, and with 3 children I do tend to buy many different types of foods that need toasting.
I do own a big toaster oven that is great, but sometimes you just want to pop your waffles into a small regular toaster. (less...

Epinions Proctor Silex's Bagel burner: The College student review

by  redgyul,  Jun 7, 2001
Pros: Cheap (as in E-Bay cheap the-shipping-cost-more-than-the-product-cheap) and functional.
Cons: Burns food easily.
The Bottom Line: For singles and college students. I'll throw it out once I hit 25.
Review: I'm a steadfast kinda lady. I won't ever give a product a bad review until its burned me one too many times. Who thought one day a product would do that literally with my bread? Proctor Silex, ouch.

It all began when I switched to the graduate...

Epinions Smart Toaster? I think not.

by  caroleg,  Feb 11, 2000
Pros: Looks nice on the counter
Cons: Doesn't toast a whole slice of toast at one time
Review: After my parents tried out my Krups wide-mouth toaster, they decided that they wanted a wide-mouthed toaster to toast wider-sliced bread and bagels. They bought the Proctor-Silex SmartToast.

They are really disappointed with the purchase....

Epinions honda13

by  joycepoole,  Mar 25, 2000
Pros: Nice appearance
Cons: Shorted out and burned my kitchen
Review: I purchased the Proctor Silex Smart Two Slice Toaster because I had purchased other Proctor Silex appliances in the past and been very pleased.

What a mistake. The toaster shorted out and burned 3/4 of my kitchen. At first we thought that...

Epinions Do you like burnt toast?

by  TggR779,  Apr 29, 2000
Pros: It matches my kitchen
Cons: It burns the toast
Review: We received the Smart toast two slice toaster last Christmas and I am sorry to say that I wish I hadn't. I eat toast a lot and so of course I want a good toaster, but this is far from it! It has many different faults, like when you try to put in a second...

Epinions Can also be used as a bread launcher!

by  honestmanjay,  Jul 27, 2004
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Cheap, not worth the price, heats unevenly.
Review: This toaster is junk. Not even close to being worth the $10. I paid for it. It heats unevenly, and if you try to push the lever up before it pops anything lighter than a bagel will end up on the counter. Spend the extra money to buy a toaster that ...
