I purchased the Proctor Silex Smart Two Slice Toaster because I had purchased other Proctor Silex appliances in the past and been very pleased.

What a mistake. The toaster shorted out and burned 3/4 of my kitchen. At first we thought that maybe it was a short in our electrical wiring, but after research, found out that it was indeed the toaster.

I liked the product very much until this happened.

One thing that is good, is that Proctor Silex does stand behind their products. They did pay for the cost of redoing my kitchen, but I had to wait a while to get the reimbursement (i.e. estimates, receipts, insurance statements, etc.)

Maybe Proctor Silex products are still great, but I will never buy that brand of product again just because of this one instance.
