All the features I want at a great price

Pros:  Powerful steam burst, auto reset features, large water reservoir.

Cons:  None that I have found yet.

The Bottom Line:  I'm happy to find a reasonably priced iron that does all I want it to!

I had purchased a Proctor Silex Steam Excel Iron a few years ago and was generally pleased with it, Proctor Silex and its durability. So I went out and purchased a P-S "Easy Press" iron and was unsatisfied with the amount of steam generated and lack of "burst of steam." (Won't go into details, as I wrote another review about this particular iron earlier).
So, off again to Target in search of a reasonably priced iron which has all the features I wanted. I settled on the Hamilton Beach Steam Storm, with the rationale that Hamilton Beach and Proctor Silex were basically the same company.
This is a great iron for the price. Firstly, it has a powerful steam burst, along with a spray feature. But as one who sews, what I think is most nifty is the auto reset feature. This in addition to the fact that auto shutoff doesn't click in for an hour is very helpful. If it does shut off, the auto reset button can be pressed, rather than unplugging the iron and plugging it back in. So many irons go into standby mode after 8-15 minutes...very frustrating if you are sewing. However, I do like the auto-off safety concept. This seems to combine both features very well. Some may think that is too long, but IMO, a hot iron is not going to burst into flames if sitting for one hour on an ironing board.
Another bonus is the decent sized water reservoir. Also, the opening in which you pour the water has a hinged lid with a seal so that water is not able to slosh out at any time.
It has two lights, one which shows you that it's plugged in, the other to show you that it's hot. Great idea.
All in all, I'm very pleased. I can't speak to durability yet, as I haven't had it long, but I am hoping that Hamilton Beach will serve me as well as its sister brand, Proctor Silex.
