Epinions Complete control yet ulta simplicity

by  doctorfunk16,  Apr 14, 2005
Pros: A true smart remote, single button control, easy for you and guests to use.
Cons: VERY LITTLE. Remote gets out of sync with device state, but that's rare and fixable.
The Bottom Line: Get this remote, period. If you need more buttons or devices, check out the other Harmony remotes, but I'd stick with the Harmony line.
Review: First off, I have a TV, Satellite Dish, DVD player, Receiver, CD player, and VCR. I used to be love the Universal Remote Control MX-500. It provided a lot of control and customization, macros, etc, and I only needed one remote to control all of my ...

Epinions I'm Glad My Dog Ate My Other Remote!

by  breviceps,  Feb 14, 2005
Pros: Easy to use, compact design, LCD screen, backlighting, great customer service.
Cons: You'll need a computer to program the remote, no dedicated eject button.
The Bottom Line: This remote does the thinking for you. It's intuitive, it knows the state of your components. Set-up is easy as answering questions on the Internet. Anyone can operate this remote.
Review: I've had my Sony RM-AV3000 remote for 2+ years and was quite happy with it. I'm able to program all my remotes so that 7 remote controls turned into one. It takes several button presses to operate a function like: watching TV, watching a movie, listening ...

Epinions Almost perfect

by  joycega,  Aug 13, 2005
Pros: Even I could do it! Great tech support
Cons: small buttons on remote and Logitech mandating too much private information in profile setup
The Bottom Line: Buy it. Fairly easy to set up and good customer support if you run into problems. This is on remote you'll use.
Review: 4 Devices = 4 remotes (TV, DVD, laser disc player, VCR). I've purchased universal remotes in the past to try to get rid of the clutter. I often could get 2 devices to work on the universal remote. But I never could get everything to work. And I could ...

Epinions TIVO LOVERS PAY HEED!

by  msedaka,  Aug 12, 2005
Pros: Well thought out layout. Easy enough for an amateur to install.
Cons: Set-up interface might seem a bit clunky to seasoned installers.
The Bottom Line: A great remote for everyone!
Review: As someone who practically has my Tivo remote glued to my hand, I was determined to find a Universal remote that came as close as possible to that glorious little piece of plastic. For a while now, I had been using a fully programmable Marantz 3200 with ...

Epinions Cooler than you think

by  xero-g,  Mar 10, 2005
Pros: Activity buttons. Enormous database of remote control codes. Help button fixes most problems automatically.
Cons: Guide, info, and exit buttons are in strange places. But easy to get used to.
The Bottom Line: Although this product is pricey, I highly recommend it if you can find a good deal for it. Brings a little more order to your home theater system.
Review: I bought this remote control for my parents to help them easily navigate their various home theater components (5 in total). I was very skeptical about whether they would take to it. Turns out, it took only a 5 minute tutorial before they were ...

Epinions Greatest remote on the planet

by  fatray,  Oct 16, 2005
Pros: Controls EVERYTHING that uses an IR remote
Cons: Takes a long time to set up and get it just right
The Bottom Line: If you have a Windows Media Center PC hooked up to your home entertainment system you are crazy if you don’t buy this remote.
Review: I’ve had this remote for a year now and it is the greatest remote I have ever bought. Extremely easy to set up, even my wife could do it. I have my HDTV, stereo receiver, DVD/VCR, Sony Playstation, Windows Media Center, digital cable box, camcorder, ...

Epinions The cat's meow!

by  deadeyesky,  Sep 27, 2006
Pros: A truly universal remote.
Cons: This thing does everything except bring me a beer when I'm watching the tube.
Review: I have owned other universal remotes in the past (even some that I paid more money for), but none of them ever allowed me full control of all of my equipment. At best, they provided limited control of some equipment and only after a series of somewhat ...

Epinions Very Complex Setup

by  srsmartin,  Aug 20, 2005
Pros: Good for simple solutions
Cons: Very time consuming for complex needs.
The Bottom Line: It is still the best multi function unit out there.
Review: It is actually easy to set up - on the surface - but very difficult to get right if your system is at all complicated. I have a home entertainment system with an A/V receiver, TV, TIVO, CD player, and DVD player/burner combo. I normally watch TV ...
