The KitchenAid Artisan is probably the most popular of all the KitchenAid mixers not only for its timeless quality and iconic style, but for its reasonable price. All over TV, the world's favorite star chefs are cooking with this mixer. It's exactly what you need.

The mixer comes packaged in a large box with its stainless-steel bowl, three attachments, a recipe book, and information for the 1-year warranty. The bright color of the mixer is probably one of its best traits, but even the "Classic White" is attractive on your kitchen countertop.

Whether you're a frequent baker or just enjoy a freshly baked batch of cookies every once in a while, the mixer is for you. The attachments are easy to affix to the pin and the planetary mixing action makes sure that ingredients on even the bottom of the bowl are fully incorporated. Enjoy freshly baked bread? You no longer need arms like Popeye to knead up a loaf or two in the high-volume 4.5-quart mixing bowl.

While the mixer has many speeds (including a simple stir speed to prevent what KitchenAid calls "flour poof"), I find that I must never go past speed 5; this mixer is so powerful that it's just not necessary.

While the mixer is a large unit and can be heavy, if you're keeping it right on your kitchen countertop, it's not only beautiful to look at but you can simply slide it on it from its home and set to work baking up a storm!
