Epinions Go Ahead! Take the leap to DVD!

by  lillylovey,  Nov 20, 2002
Pros: Fantastic picture sound and options. Easy setup.
Cons: Bulky remote with no back light.
The Bottom Line: This is a fabulous DVD player I would recommend to all. Treat yourself to a higher quality way to watch movies!
Review: DVD's are the wave of the future and will overtake your standard VHS just as CDs took over cassettes so many years ago. I decided it was time to take the plunge when we were in the video store renting a movie and my 5 year old daughter was extolling the...

Epinions Burn That Disc...

by  LaFeet,  Oct 8, 2002
Pros: Inexpensive, stylish
Cons: Lackluster features, stealth mode remote control
The Bottom Line: This is a DVD recorder that will survive use by kids and still deliver a quality picture.
Review: With the price of DVD recorders dropping almost as fast as CPUs, nearly every house will have their own. This is the next wave of home video recording. The only thing impairing its advance is the relatively high price of the recording medium.

Epinions Good riddance VHS - DVD Recordable has arrived!

by  pepper99,  Jul 16, 2003
Pros: Price, disc compatibility with standalone DVD players, DVD-Ram capability.
Cons: Poor IR reception, clunky "Keyboard" letter input, slow reaction to buttons, inability to disable VCR-Plus.
The Bottom Line: A great unit which provides excellent features and disc compatibility for a very good price. Some quirks with this unit are frustrating, but can be dealt with.
Review: I've long wanted a DVD recorder, but price was always a major deterent, along with the price of the media itself, and the seeming incompatibilities amongst the +R/-R formats. When my VCR died several months ago, and our (Cheap) backup VCR on it's way ...

by  rshiroma,  Oct 8, 2002
Pros: slim, easy to use, all features accessible from both the unit itself and the remote

The Bottom Line: Don't use cheap discs and don't throw away your VCR. Not yet at least.
Review: I bought this very stylish silver dvd recorder at CompUSA and am quite impressed by it ..... when it works.

Picture quality is very very good from the progressive scan feature - quite noticeable on larger screen televisions. On recorded discs,...

Pros: Easy to use, compatible, and great quality.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: A great table-top recorder as easy to use as a VCR
Review: After having used this DVD recorder/player for a couple of weeks I am convinced this is one of the best electronic purchases I've made this year. The DMR-E30 supports DVD-R and DVD-RW (DVD-RAM) recording in formats up to 6 hours per disk. For the...

Epinions Well worth the money.

by  tommynawrocki,  Jun 4, 2003
Pros: Very affordable, progressive scan, general fun factor.
Cons: Poor remote, some media incompatibility. no DV input.
The Bottom Line: If you want a good VCR replacement this is for you. If you want a stand alone unit for DV editing look into the more expensive DVD Recorder.
Review: Ive been using this unit for 5 days since I received it so Ill try to give you an overview of my experience with it. The first thing you notice is the sleek utilitarian look of the unit. The LED cover shines like a mirror when the unit isnt turned on. On...

Epinions The Future is Here!

by  njcck,  Dec 18, 2002
Pros: Writes DVDs compatible with every player I've tried (all less than 1 year old)
Cons: If your VCR still blinks 12:00 you may find operation SLIGHTLY difficult
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. This is a product that could change the way you watch TV. A library of favorite programs and movies is now an inexpensive reality.
Review: I've made about 15 DVDs from dumps off TIVO and I couldn't be happier with the results. I have a lot of AV equipment including satellite receiver, TIVO and AV receiver, so set up was a little complicated, but once set up... NO problem! The quality in...

Epinions Powerhouse DVD recorder

by  ufoshow,  Apr 21, 2003
Pros: Much more to offer compared to an internal DVD burner.
Cons: No firewire connection and no VCD (video-CD) recording.
The Bottom Line: This is way worth the extra 100 bucks or so spent when compared to an internal PC DVD burner. Very easy to operate.
Review: This has to be one of the best video toys I have ever bought. I’m a video producer and this is the finest investment ever made for my productions.

Originally I was going to add a DVD burner on my PC workstation, and was glad to purchase...
