by  dkozin, lead in Electronics ,  Mar 8, 2007
Pros: Price, picture quality, resolution, features, included accessories, RAW, size, weight, large LCD
Cons: No super-wide angle, overly-aggressive noise reduction
The Bottom Line: If you want a 7.2-Megapixel responsive "monster zoom" camera, this Panasonic FZ8 is an excellent choice. With 12x optical zoom, optical image...
Review: I have always like mega-zoom cameras from Panasonic. I have started using them beginning with the 2-Megapixel FZ1 and went through the FZ3, FZ4 , 5 -Megapixel Panasonic FZ5 and 6-Megapixel ...

Epinions Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 Superb !

by  musinteg,  Apr 30, 2008
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Movie sound isnt the best. Better "use flash" indicator is needed. Thats it!
The Bottom Line: Go get one, why?, because it takes great pictures, is very flexable and battery life is NOT an issue.Did I mention it takes great pictures ?
Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-8 Out of the box: The camera comes with all the accessories to get you going, except a SDHC memory card ( you can re-use your old SD card up to 2 Gb). The battery must be charged ( takes 2 hours...not bad ) on panasonics' ...

by  rfmckee,  Sep 11, 2007
Pros: Zoom, Image Stability, flash, ease of use with menus
Cons: lens cap, size
The Bottom Line: I recommend a buy on this product. It's the best bang for the buck.
Review: I thought I would write a review finally on my FZ7 that I have owned for about 8 months. I figured since the FZ7 and 8 are very similar I would write it here. My FZ7 has been really great. Especially for the price. I now know 4 people that have bought ...

Epinions Very satisfied

by  shimmertje,  Jun 19, 2007
Pros: Wonderful zoom, good image stabiliser, nice colours, sharp images
Cons: Light artifacts on pictures that require lens shielding
The Bottom Line: If you want something more than a point-and-shoot compact, but aren't ready for a high-end prosumer, do consider the FZ8.
Review: After my Olympus SP-550UZ compared unfavourably with my experiences of Panasonic Lumix cameras, I went out and got myself another Lumix - the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 to be precise. I'd already had good experiences with the Lumix DMC-FZ5 and DMC-FZ50, ...

Epinions Amazing for the price.

by  flamingdeath,  Mar 18, 2008
Pros: Great array of controls. Love the joystick, baby SLR feel, long zoom.
Cons: Would like less ISO noise and wider angle when zoomed out.
The Bottom Line: This is probably the most camera you can get without getting a full blown DSLR. Highly recommended.
Review: I got back into photography after a 10-12 year hiatus. I started with a point-and-shoot Kodak, but it was obvious that that wasn't going to cut it. I needed something that was easy and quick to use, but had a good assortment of manual controls. I ...

Epinions Wonderful Camera

by  ehendrix,  Nov 16, 2007
Pros: huge focus range, good image quality, excellent image stabilization
Cons: noise apparent in pictures past iso 400, not a great low light camera
Review: I was on the verge of buying a DSLR (Nikon D40) and I'm glad I did not. For about half the $$$ I got a digital camera that has a wide focal range (12x) and the focal range can be increased if you lower the mega pixels of the picture. The autofocus is ...

Review: I read a lot of reviews before buying my first digital camera. You see I'm from the old school in photography. Things like white balance confused me, we did all that with filters. So easy these days. I got out of photography when digital came around. ...
