Author's Review

I have heard stories about people who got breadmakers and were very happy with them, but it seemed as too much hassle for me to make bread myself. Now I know how wrong I was.

I got a breadmaker for my birthday and, since I got it, I had to use it. Surprisingly, it was very easy and not time consuming to make bread. In fact, it is fun! Plus, the bread you bake tastes much better than whatever you can get in your average grocery store. Because of these factors, I haven’t bought bread in the last several months – who needs the store-bought bread when I can make better bread myself?

Everything Is Automatic

The process is fully automatic after you mix some ingredients. The machine even dispenses yeast automatically when needed. You can also set the timer so the bread is ready when you need it – say in 10 hours.

You will need basic ingredients (depending on the bread type you are going to make). The recipes for several types of bread are included and require different ingredients. In general, you need bread flour (whole wheat for whole wheat recipe, white for white bread), yeast, sugar, brown sugar, dry milk, salt, oil or butter, water.

The machine does everything automatically after you put all the ingredients in the pan and choose the baking cycle (which takes less than 5 minutes). In knits the dough, adds yeast, waits for it to rise and bakes it. Very simple and the human intervention is not required.

The ingredients are not expensive. I buy white flour in "Sam’s Club" for $5 for a 25-lb bag. Whole wheat flour costs around $2-3 for 5 lbs.

Cleaning

The machine’s pan requires cleaning after every use, which is made easy by the non-sticking surface and the fact that the pan is easily removed. The cleaning takes less than a minute.

Free Extra

As a free extra – your apartment or house smells like fresh-baked bread after the cycle is complete.

Bottom Line

If you are overweight, this machine might be a bad idea – the bread it makes is so delicious, you might find yourself eating more of it. Otherwise, it is the great device that is sure to make you happy.
