Epinions I May Never Leave The House Again

by  ChrisJoker,  May 19, 2006
Pros: Outstanding picture, easy to hook up, sleek design.
Cons: Side speakers could limit where it can fit in your entertainment system.
The Bottom Line: If you're looking at projection HDTVs, you must make sure to consider this set for its outstanding picture at a mid-range price.
Review: A classic line from The Simpsons comes from Homer as he reacts joyfully to being reunited with his couch (evil carnival workers kicked the Simpson clan out of their house…don’t ask) that has, how shall I say it, conformed to his body after ...

by  gregc767,  Jul 28, 2006
Pros: Simply the best picture out there period.
Cons: Speaker placement makes unit wider than others this size.
The Bottom Line: Would recommend this product over all other formats LCD, Plasma, CRT. This is what HDTV is supposed to look like!
Review: I looked for over a year at HDTV's before deciding on the Sony 50" SXRD television. Having owned it for over 6 months now, I can honestly say this is the BEST television I have ever owned. The picture is incredibly clear and crisp when it is displaying ...

The Bottom Line: If you can afford this buy it. LCOS compares Better than plasma and better than DLP's, CRT &LCD projection TV's. No Screen Door effect, Rainbow effect.
Review: Better than a Plasma! Even though you cannot mount this on a wall this is a great TV based on LCOS technology better than all DLP's, CRT and LCD Projection TV's. HDTV is Mind blowing and this is the reason I bought it. SD programs are better than most ...

Epinions Greatest TV Ever Made

by  lifewillbeok,  Aug 3, 2008
Pros: Amazing picture quality
Cons: Lamp faded once
The Bottom Line: I do recommend it, great price and amazing for a rear projection.
Review: The Sony XBR SXRD is truly an amazing rear projection television. It was one of the first 1080p televisions to be on the market, and it is still rockin. The picture quality in full high definition is unparalleled, even with an upconverting DVD player ...

Epinions Amazing picture quality

by  designillinois,  Dec 22, 2005
Pros: Sharp, life-like picture, good contrast and clarity, matte screen cuts glare.
Cons: Tiny type on remote, not backlit.
The Bottom Line: In my opinion, the picture beats plasmas. Worth a look if considering the leap to a HD providing you do not need a flat tv to wall mount.
Review: I have had the Sony SXRD 50 inch tv for five months now and I am very pleased with my choice of this TV. I believe it offers the most gorgeous HD picture you can buy today. I would not call myself a video expert, but as a graphic designer who works all ...

Epinions Living up to the hype and more...

by  vermagnussen,  Jul 10, 2006
Pros: -Stunning picture even close up -No "screen door" effect or "yellow blob"
Cons: -Speakers so-so and make the tv much wider than it needs to be.
The Bottom Line: If you've been waiting for the right time to get a HDTV. Stop. Get this one. After two months of research I haven't found a better TV under 10k.
Review: Just received the TV (7/8/2006). Setup was simple, the initial channel scan that is supposed to take 50 minutes took about five (the $30 HD indoor antenna I had hooked up didn't pick up any viewable channels though). Use with digital cable and HD ...

Epinions Stunning TV - but some problems in stock.

by  comlock,  Feb 26, 2006
Pros: When it works - excellent picture.
Cons: Sets made before Jan 06' have problems.
The Bottom Line: Make sure you purchase with an option for either an exchange or refund! Look If you have this problem make sure Sony is contacted
Review: I've dealt with the 50in and 60in and both have had to go back due to poor gray levels and a green blob that doesn't go away. Check your set by switching on the Memory Stick option. It should be a gray screen, but most aren't. If it's not then all B&W ...

Epinions Stripped down SXRD

by  markwrench,  Dec 11, 2005
Pros: Ports galore, two HDMI, amazing picture
Cons: A beast at 18 inches wide and some 140 pounds
Review: This TV has definitely made me rethink plasma. I know Sony was taking it in the butt having to buy Samsung plasma screens so they bailed on plasma. That they have created a cheaper version of the Qualia is a true blessing. I was about to put money down ...
